The factory Lexus system was not great. They have almost no AEC so far end callers always hear themselves back. After the Hamilton CarPlay conversion that issue is gone. However, as the mic is clear and loud enough, it brings in a lot of static/road noise with it.
So far I have turned the mic gain to low. This helps some, but not nearly enough.
I'm thinking about installing a ground loop isolator in line between the male and female 3.5mm connectors for the microphone.
Has this issue been brought up before? Are there any fixes? Maybe firmware updates? Just looking for some clear call audio outbound from the car.
