We will have more videos with information launching soon about how to use this kit.
I just finished my DIY install on a 2020 LX570. Dave's video was very helpful and his staff were also very knowledgeable and supportive. My CarPlay works great, it's functionality seems to be exactly the same as the Toyota version on my newer 1794 Tundra. I don't think the competitors could possibly be any more helpful than the Hamilton guys 👍👍
Just had CarPlay Upgrade conversion kit installed in my 2016 LX570 by a reputable stereo installer and cannot connect (but do see as option) Hamilton-3505 in my Bluetooth list. Handsfree (in addition to Hamilton-3505) keeps trying to connect on it's own (as another device option in the list) and providing a # to enter. Is this coming from the vehicle (Lexus) and not the kit? I cannot turn off the Handsfree for it to focus solely on the Hamilton option - if Handsfree is not Hamilton. Thank you.
Was able to connect but did need to answer to the Handsfree request.
@William Powley handsfree is the factory Lexus BT trying to trigger a connection. Long hold the menu button, switch to your factory interface, delete your devices and power factory BT off.
You only want to be connected to the new Hamilton BT with your original car in Aux mode.
We can re-configure your system on request to use factory BT instead of the Hamilton BT-AUX mode connection method, but this is our default from production. It is six of one half dozen of another. But you cannot use factory BT unless we change your settings.
Thanks Robert! We really appreciate your kind post.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the unit I installed a few months ago in my 2020 LX570, it's so much better than the standard Lexus radio/media, there's no comparison. However, I recently heard about a new touchscreen Hamilton unit for the LX570 (2016-2021, I think). I couldn't resist checking out the touchscreen. After trying it, I decided that I would treat myself to this new model. That has proven to be a wonderful decision for me. At 79, the touchscreen is much easier for me to use than the Lexus mouse. Thanks to Dave and all of his team for their innovation and tech support 👍👍
