My new unit in a 2014 is250 requires that the media button be pressed each time you go from the factory original screens to carplay. For instance: If I am on the factory Lexus screen listening to FM radio and switch to the carplay screens, the carplay screen comes up but the FM is still playing thru my speakers. I must hit the media button on the Lexus head unit to get the factory radio to quit playing so I can hear carplay.
Not a show stopper but just a bit clunky. Doesn't seem seamless when you hold down the mouse menu button switching systems and the audio doesn't auto switch as well.
Other than that it seems great. Install wasn't too bad other than feeding the wires. For some reason the mouse connectors had black cloth tape on them. Almost suggesting I don't connect them. However, I removed the factory tape covering the connectors and installed them because my is has the mouse. Not sure why they were covered over to begin with.
